Single session therapy · ONEplus
Focused help, when you need it
Sometimes you don’t need weeks of therapy. You need one properly structured conversation – to understand what’s going on, clarify what you want, and leave with a concrete sense of what to do next. Single session therapy, sometimes called ONEplus therapy, is designed exactly for that. It’s not a cut-down version of ‘real’ therapy. It’s a different approach, with its own rigour – one that takes seriously the possibility that a single focused session, properly prepared for, can move things further than you might expect.

Is it right for me?
Who it’s for?
Single session therapy works best for people who have a specific issue they want to address – not a vague sense that things could be better, but something particular: a decision to make, a pattern they want to understand, a conversation they need to prepare for, a situation they feel stuck in.
It suits people who are ready to engage, willing to think carefully about what they want from the session, and realistic about what one conversation can and can’t achieve. It’s also a good option for people who have had therapy before and want to revisit something specific, or who want to explore whether ongoing therapy might be useful without making an immediate commitment to it.
WORKS WELL IF YOU HAVE
- A specific issue or decision
- A situation you feel stuck in
- A pattern you want to understand
- Had therapy before and want to revisit something
- Uncertainty about ongoing therapy
THE PROCESS
How it works – the three steps
Each step is part of the work. The questionnaire and follow-up call are included in the fee – not extras.

Before we meet
The questionnaire
I’ll send you a short questionnaire. This isn’t admin – it’s an invitation to gather your thoughts, identify what feels most important, and set a clear intention for our session. Taking it seriously makes a real difference to how useful the session is. Return it within 48 hours of your appointment.

50 mins – in person or online
The session
We work closely on the specific issue you’ve identified – exploring what’s getting in the way, clarifying what you actually need, and building a realistic plan you can take away and use. I’ll ask you to summarise your key takeaways at the end; that act of articulation helps make them stick.

A couple of weeks later
The follow-up call
How are things? Have you had a chance to act on what we discussed? Do you feel you need any further support? The timing matters: long enough for something to have shifted, close enough to keep the momentum going.
The ‘ONEplus’ — what comes after
The door doesn’t close after your session. If you find that you want to continue working – either because the issue turned out to be more complex than you thought, or because the session opened something you want to explore further – that’s straightforward to arrange. Single session therapy is a complete piece of work in itself, and it can also be the beginning of something longer. That is always your choice.
